2nd Term Seaparc Commissioner
Noah Dowhy knows Sooke. Born, raised, and now raising his own family with his wife Amanda in the Saseenos neighborhood where he grew up. He has lived through the rapid changes incorporation has made to our community closing in on three decades. For many years he’s been following the local news, listening to council meetings, and trying to imagine a local government that looks at the bigger picture and includes all of its residents.
As a journeyman carpenter working in the Westshore for over 20 years, much of his career has been spent helping buyers learn about their new homes and neighborhoods, Noah knows about the pressures rapid development can put on a community and he intends to examine potential community effects with a critical eye.
Through his experience as an actor in community theatre he has made valued connections and seen the great sense of community that results from an active arts scene supported by local leadership.
As a parent, Noah has consistently stepped up to volunteer. His involvement includes serving as a district representative with the EMCS PAC, building sets and working as a stagehand for local youth theatre, and supporting Sooke Minor Hockey as a scorekeeper and as a team safety.
His dedication as a community member spans decades. When he was younger he served with the Sooke Lions Club, contributing to work parties for the Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan and running with the Sooke Harbourside Lions in 24hr relay events at UVIC to raise money for kids to go to camp. More recently, Noah has been getting involved by serving as Vice Chairperson in his appointment as a community representative at SEAPARC and making his opinions known at the podium during public participation at Sooke council meetings.
Noah hopes you will consider giving him one of your votes for council on October 17. He is committed to devoting the next four years to better governance and fact based decision making for the betterment of all our lives here in beautiful Sooke BC
